An Overall Haemostatic Potential Assay and its Clinical Practice

（Research Unit for Experimental Hematology, Faculty of Medicine, Xi’an JiaoTong University, 710061,Xi’an, China)Abstract: Objective To establish an overall haemostatic potential assay and evaluate its ability to indicate the hypercoagulable state and the coagulopathy.Methods In the present of plasminogen activator(UK) the plasma clotting was triggered by the low concentration of tissue factor. The time course of fibrin formation and the fibrin degradation was measured by a spectrophotometer at 340 nm. The opacity curve obtained for coagulationfibrinolys is was processed by a personal computer. The related parameters including the overall haemostatic potential(OHP), overall coagulation potential(OCP) and the overall fibrinolysis potential(OFP)were established. Results It was found that OHP and OCP were increased and /or OFP was decreased in the patients of cancer, normal pregnancy and coronary heart disease.
